About ABC Educational Services:

ABC's Mission:

Our specialized and collaborative educational consultation services are designed for 

childcare programs, school districts, secondary and post-secondary students, and parents alike. 

We offer tailored solutions, informed-guidance, and mentorship to help clients develop and achieve 

short and long-term goals for the various developmental stages and educational transitions.

Amy is an education professional with over 20 years of experience in teaching, coaching, counseling, intervention, and special education leadership across PreK-12 levels in Massachusetts. She holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. A lifelong learner and advocate, Amy pursued additional graduate coursework and professional development focused on student support, inclusivity, and special education, and is trained in mediation and restorative justice.


Starting her career as an elementary teacher, Amy quickly shifted her focus to supporting students' social and emotional needs and advocating for equal access to education. She transitioned to counseling, working as a high school guidance counselor and interventionist, where she fostered student success and established the guidance department at a private special education school, specializing in social and emotional learning disabilities and college searches for students with learning differences.


Amy further expanded her impact at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as an Educational Specialist, conducting comprehensive school district evaluations across the state to ensure compliance with special education, civil rights, and English Learner Education regulations, assessing corrective actions, and providing technical assistance to school administrators.

After her profound experience at DESE and wanting to directly serve students and families in a the public schools again, Amy pursued special education leadership. She served as a Special Education Administrator/Out of District Coordinator in a mid-sized suburban school district, Director of Special Education Programs at a high school in Boston, Special Education Therapeutic Program Manager at a large, urban district, Team Chairperson at a large, urban school district, and Middle School Special Education Coordinator at a large suburban district. Responsibilities included advocating for student needs, administrative collaboration, ensuring regulatory compliance, IEP approvals, supervising staff and specialized programming, leading staff development and mentorship, coordinating professional development, program and staff evaluation, family support, coordinating with state and community agencies, determination of placements, and ensuring equitable inclusion and effective progress. 


Amy now focuses on devoting more time to her family and helping other families understand, navigate, build strong, working relationships with educators, and make informed decisions for their children. She also consults with school districts and early childhood programs, working to improve inclusive practices and ensuring that all students and staff are appropriately supported and utilize a whole child approach. 


 Amy lives in the Metro Boston area with her husband, school-aged daughters, and dogs. She truly values family time and understands the importance of the work/life balance. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her extended family, traveling, relaxing at the beach, reading, baking, music, skiing, playing soccer, and watching her daughters' and nieces' sporting events.
